Job Description

Here’s what we’re looking for:

The successful Engineer will have/be:

  • Chartered Member with the IChemE or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience working as a Process Engineer or equivalent in aspects of design in the nuclear industry.
  • Demonstratable experience of the following:
  • Awareness and implementation of Health and Safety processes, regulations and standards,
  • Successful delivery of process engineering work packages,
  • Leading a team,
  • Mentoring of other Process Engineers,
  • Supporting bids,
  • Developing a delivery schedule,
  • Awareness and use of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of key process engineering deliverables as part of a wider multidiscipline team, these include:
  • Process Descriptions,
  • Basis of Design,
  • Process Flow Diagrams,
  • Process & Instrumentation Diagrams,
  • Process & Instrument Data Sheets & Schedules,
  • Underpinning Design Calculations,
  • Material and Enthalpy Balances,
  • Design Justification Reports.
  • Leading all aspects of process design including:
  • Key deliverables listed above, and their delegation as required,
  • Ensuring that the process design satisfies the project requirements and overall scope,
  • Ensuring that the process design complies with health and safety standards by utilising a Safety in Design approach,
  • Project programme development,
  • Managing project workload amongst the Process Team,
  • Liaising with other engineering disciplines to ensure a fully integrated multidisciplinary design,
  • Communication of design development in project meetings and reporting documentation.
  • Development of early careers staff, via support, guidance and checking of work.
  • Responsible as a ‘Designer’ under the CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Supporting Safety Case development via engineering substantiation.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving and ability to apply ‘Engineering Fit for Purpose Judgement’ where appropriate.
  • Support the Process Team growth through identifying work opportunities and assisting with recruitment activities.
  • Manage Contractors and build a working relationship with Delivery Partners.
