We are currently working actively to grow and develop our business, to enhance the technical service we offer to our existing clients and further develop our portfolio. To that end we are looking to make a senior appointment of a Process Safety Engineering Principal Consultant, ideally based in Manchester but can be based from one of SLR’s offices in Northern England, including Nottingham Sheffield Leeds or Newcastle whilst benefitting from SLR’s Hybrid working model.

You will be required to participate in and manage a range of client and internal projects focused on provision of services to improve the design, operation and maintenance of hazardous processing facilities on client sites. This is a senior customer facing role requiring good interpersonal skills, a head for business and management experience, as well as a desire to remain involved in the technical detail.
Within this customer facing role we’ll look to you to apply your expert knowledge of COMAH and other process safety related legislation, supporting multiple projects across a wide variety of high hazard sites and industry sectors, whilst developing new business both individually and as a team. This could include chemical manufacturing, onshore bulk storage facilities and associated sites, across a range of sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and explosives.
Although ideally based in Manchester, we will consider all locations and could even offer remote roles for candidates without an SLR office nearby. The role involves working on client sites across the UK, and may include working on these sites UK wide for periods of a day to a week or more as required. There may also be the opportunity to work abroad from time to time.
