The Open Pits Department at Northern Star Resources currently has an opportunity for an experienced Principal Project Engineer to join the team, working at our Subiaco based Corporate Office, on a permanent and full-time basis.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this key senior role is responsible for optimising plan/equipment/labour hours for Operations, Technical Services and Project Managers. The role will evolve after an initial feasibility assessment, into optimising annual mine plans through collaborative stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Significant Open Pit estimating experience.
  • High level of technical expertise in extractive metallurgy
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the gold mining industry.
  • Extensive contract and mining estimation experience, preferably open pit.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Mining CAD packages.
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
