PROJECT DIRECTOR

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Project Director to lead the SPaTS Framework in partnership with National Highways and DfT. This is a pivotal role within Amey, responsible for ensuring the highest performing and expert technical teams are engaged across a wide range of disciplines to deliver innovative and high-quality framework mini competition tender solutions.
The successful candidate will be accountable for successfully securing and delivering a programme of works to meet annual budgetary targets for turnover and margin on behalf of the SPaTS Framework Alliance. Reporting to the Senior Delivery Director, the Project Director will be expected to provide strategic leadership to the Technical, Bidding and Programme teams.
The Project Director will be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, as well as foster a collaborative working environment for Framework Alliance partners to work within and succeed together.
This role will require a blend of technical expertise, strong project management skills, and excellent stakeholder management abilities to ensure the successful delivery of services required for this framework.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate safety and customer within everything we do.
  • Lead the Framework Management Team (FMT) and oversee the delivery of the SPaTS3 Framework, ensuring services meet required standards and commitments.
  • Identify, own and secure key opportunities within the Programme and make resources available to secure work against these.
  • Set direction and targets for the Framework and communicate these effectively to all team members and Alliance.
  • Collaborate with National Highways, DfT, other framework contractors, and supply chain partners to promote a collaborative and efficient approach.
  • Monitor and review performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the Collaborative Performance Framework (CPF), identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage the Framework Quality Implementation Plan (QIP), ensuring alignment with ISO standards and driving continuous improvement.
  • Assure that the Framework is being managed ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards; – to the complete satisfaction of the client.
  • Lead training and knowledge transfer initiatives for National Highways and supply chain partners.
  • Manage the innovation register and support structured innovation and Lean Continuous Improvement (CI) across the Framework.
  • Represent the Alliance at quarterly meetings with National Highways and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Accountable for the performance of the P&L across the Framework.
  • Support New Business Development teams and Bid Director with Customer Relationship Management to identify new opportunities and service streams in accordance with Market Strategy Plan.
  • Manage a successful bid programme in accordance with Client and Amey governance procedures.
