JOIN THE NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AS A PRINCIPAL PUBLISHER (CLERK GRADE 11/12)

We are excited to announce an opening for a Principal Publisher within our Curriculum directorate.

  • Location: Parramatta, with some access to various NSW Education offices and flexible working arrangements available
  • Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 with base salary ranging from $149,739 to $173,174 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Temporary full time appointment up to 4 years, with possibility of extension or conversion to ongoing

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of and experience with educational contexts pre-school to Year 12
  • Robust understanding of and demonstrated ability to apply style guides, accessibility standards and other legislative requirements for printed, electronic and online materials, including copyright
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team to meet the objectives of the team, unit, directorate and organisation
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
  • Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role leads and manages workstreams that deliver high quality print and electronic publications, supporting effective curriculum implementation, and which are consistent with departmental and legislative requirements. The role is required to deliver, monitor and evaluate a portfolio of functions and to facilitate the successful achievement of workstream, team, directorate and organisational objectives.
