He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About this role Reporting to the Manager Resource Consenting, the purpose of this role is to develop and implement consenting strategies and deliver consenting projects for key strategic consents. Key responsibilities will include: Creating and implementing consenting strategies for key projects to help Watercare meet regulatory obligations. Specialist statutory planning guidance and mentoring for the preparation of Notices of Requirement, Outline Plan of Works, consent applications and supporting technical documents. Responsible for business cases for key consenting projects. Leading and deliver the statutory processes required to obtain key strategic consents and any other statutory approvals for projects. Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you To be successful in this role you will have a sound understanding of the water industry, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and extensive experience in resource management and consent planning. In addition to this, your background will include the following: Tertiary level professional qualification. A proven track record of project managing resource consent projects and obtaining large resource consents and other statutory approvals. A strong understanding of RMA legislation and recent reforms and changes. Experience in consent hearings and court proceedings. Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, at all levels. Experience working in water utilities would be preferred although this is not essential.
