We are seeking a driven Principal Scientist for our Water Solutions business unit. As a member of the Atlanta Product and Technology Development team, you will be a critical part of a dynamic and diverse technical group focused on implementing new technologies that align with Kemira’s growth strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Subject matter expert in the area of water treating technologies.
  • Partners with multiple functions (Applications, Sales, Product line management, Research & Innovation, PSRA, Manufacturing, IP) to develop new products/concepts, application areas consistent with Water Solutions business strategy
  • Key technical contact for strategic customer, university and research institutes collaboration. Interprets Customer needs and recommends new development programs.
  • Plans, coordinates and carries out complex cross-functional development projects within agreed on time and budget. Accountable for project deliverables.
  • Partner with application and commercial team to demonstrate value of developed technologies through field trials, analysis of outcomes and communication with customers.
  • Design custom test procedures, and identify or build custom equipment to test material and product attributes to validate features and benefits of new technologies.
  • Develop application screening techniques to deliver representative results applicable to customer specific needs.
  • Contribute to the business product and technology development strategy.
  • Interface with Research & Innovation to propose and steer selected long term research and innovation activities. Transition projects to development once proof of technical and commercial concept proven.
  • Prepare and present written reports, publications and presentations that are concise, clearly understood and contain appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
  • Travel required (10-20%).
