Description

WE HELP THE WORLD RUN BETTER

At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

ABOUT US

The Data Platform Engineering Design Team at SAP builds the Splunk (SaaS and on-premise) platform, utilized by partner organizations for Incident Response, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Attack Surface Reduction (Vulnerability Management) across SAP lines-of-business. Security tools across the company send their telemetry to our platform for correlation, analysis, and threat detection. Our platform serves as an investigative tool for numerous Incident Responders within our centralized security function (Cyber Defense & Design) and SAP lines-of-business, providing a deeper understanding of their operating environments. Additionally, the platform supports IT Operations workloads for proactive monitoring and compliance.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Security Data Platform Engineer at SAP, you will play a crucial role in the development, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of our Data Platform tools within the SAP global logging and monitoring ecosystem. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure on which our global Detection Platform operates, collaborating with key stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure successful implementation. You will act as a point of escalation during outages and as a mentor to Operations staff. Your contributions will support data hygiene and quality and align with the data strategy of the Data Platform. Primary responsibilities include constructing new capabilities, enhancing existing mechanisms, and thoroughly documenting systems for future colleagues.
