Description

Are you ready to ensure our technical security as a Principal Security Engineer (f/m/d)*? Join us now and take over a key role in steering our technical security strategy and resilience forward.

With the power of a globally successful brand, we at Engel & Völkers are setting new standards and, together with our international colleagues, driving forward first-class services and creative solutions. At Engel & Völkers, you'll work independently from day one with plenty of creative freedom to contribute new ideas and realize projects. Together, we are shaping a corporate culture that fosters personal growth and an innovative mindset.

To strengthen our IT-Security Team at the Hamburg headquarters, we are looking for you as a full-time (40 hours) Principal Security Engineer (f/m/d) with immediate effect. As Principal Security Engineer (f/m/d)*, you will combine hands-on engineering with architecture, mentoring and cross-team delivery and thus help secure the digital services behind Engel & Völkers business.

Tasks that let you grow

  • As a Principal Security Engineer (f/m/d)* you will ensure our technical security across standard and AI-enabled applications, AI / LLM integrations, cloud infrastructure and corporate IT by assessing attack surfaces, configurations and security controls; identifying vulnerabilities and steer remediation.
  • Take ownership of E&V’s security architecture and roadmap while identifying relevant attack vectors, evaluating the effectiveness of existing controls and collaborating with responsible teams to address identified material gaps.
  • Assess the security of existing GCP and Kubernetes workloads, identities, networks and secrets, followed by detecting possible configuration flaws, excessive permissions and attack paths.
  • Embed threat modelling, security reviews and automated checks into product development and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Enhance SIEM/SOAR detection quality and automation, serving as the technical escalation point for the external SOC to refine telemetry and handle complex incidents.
  • Drive holistic vulnerability management by prioritizing risks, based on exposure and impact, coordinating penetration tests, and steering remediation.

Your skills, that inspire us

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, vocational IT training, or equivalent educational background.
  • Extensive work experience in the field of security engineering, working with complex security risks and trade-offs, leading complex technical initiatives and guiding cross-team decisions.
  • Deep expertise in production cloud and Kubernetes security as well as hands-on scripting skills to automate controls via Git, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Strong background in security monitoring, incident response and vulnerability management, using an evidence-driven approach to regularly audit tool coverage and control effectiveness.
  • Practical experience in application security, threat modeling and secure development, backed by sound identity, endpoint and network fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; German is a plus.

An environment that empowers you

    • General conditions: 30 days of vacation plus additional days off on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, a hybrid work model with 50% presence at the headquarters each month, a learning flat rate in the in-house Academy and company pension scheme.
    • Health & mobility: Monthly subsidies for your sports membership or for the Urban Sports Club, a Work-Life Portal, JobRad, Deutschland-Ticket subsidy and your own Pluxee card.
    • Engel & Völkers Community: Various offers and training opportunities with e-learning formats, individual support, events and company celebrations, an incentivized employee referral program and other corporate benefits.
    • Offers at the headquarters: Monthly after-work events, Barista bar with a wide selection of beverages and additional snacks, massage offers, an annual health week, a weekly “juice day” with freshly pressed juices, a 24/7 kiosk, influenza vaccinations, as well as free parking and e-charging stations in our underground garage.
