About the Late-Stage Process Development Department The Late-Stage Process Development Department plays a pivotal role in transitioning processes from clinical-scale to commercial manufacturing. The department consists of three teams, each comprising approximately 15 professionals specializing in upstream, downstream, and analytical disciplines. You will join a group of highly dedicated technicians and scientists collaborating on the characterization and optimization of processes, fostering close teamwork across technical areas. About the Role We are seeking a skilled Technician with expertise in analytical chemistry, particularly in HPLC and electrophoretic methodologies such as SEC, IEX, CE-SDS, iCIEF, and affinity chromatography for the analysis of protein-based biotherapeutics. As part of the Late-Stage Process Development Department, you will work with a variety of chromatography techniques to support the characterization and optimization of processes for products produced primarily in mammalian cell lines, with occasional work on microbial cell lines. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with committed colleagues, gain experience with diverse drug products at various clinical stages, and apply your expertise in a dynamic and interactive environment. Your Primary Tasks Will Include: Performing analytical assays using techniques such as SEC, CIEX, AIEX, RP-HPLC, HIC, affinity chromatography, CE-SDS, and iCIEF to support late-stage process development. Scheduling your tasks efficiently in alignment with team priorities. Processing analytical data independently and preparing it for scientific review. Reporting results in AGC’s electronic systems and conducting data analysis. Communicating effectively with colleagues across technical disciplines. Proactively identifying opportunities for flexibility and efficiency improvements. Conducting routine analysis of protein-based pharmaceuticals using HPLC and electrophoretic methodologies. Maintaining and troubleshooting analytical instruments. Your Qualifications: Education as a lab technician or an equivalent scientific/technical background. Preferably 4+ years of experience in protein analytics, ideally within the biotech industry. Hands-on experience with HPLC-based method development (e.g., SEC, RP, IEX, affinity chromatography) for protein analysis. Hands-on experience with electrophoretic-based method development (e.g., CE-SDS, iCIEF) for protein analysis. Interest in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of analytical instrumentation, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and regulatory requirements. Experience with Chromeleon (advantageous but not required). Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a good sense of humor.
