Description Farallon Consulting, L.L.C. has a full-time opening for a Senior or Principal Engineer in our Bellevue or Seattle, Washington office. This is a hybrid, full-time exempt position. What you will be doing at Farallon: Core job responsibilities will include working with Farallon’s technical teams to support a broad range of projects that reflect Farallon’s core practices in contaminated site investigation and cleanup, environmental due diligence, litigation support, and regulatory coordination. Senior and Principal level candidates will be considered for this position, with increasing responsibility for business development, financial management, and technical execution at the Principal level. Requirements Key responsibilities: Originate and develop new business and leverage existing client relationships. Work closely with clients, project teams, and regulators to lead projects through site assessment, investigation, development of cleanup strategy, construction, and attainment of closure requirements. Preparing and overseeing preparation of feasibility study workplans and methods, system design documents and equipment sizing, bid specifications, and engineering drawings. Develop and review remedial cost estimates for the lifetime of a project. Provide technical and project management leadership to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality on a variety of complex projects. Manage project financial performance and client relationships for multiple projects. Staff development, coaching, and mentoring. What you will need to succeed: Previous experience in consulting or similar professional services working with multiple clients to understand their needs and provide solutions. Strong engineering design experience for multiple contaminants and remedial technologies; and the ability to prepare and oversee preparation of feasibility pilot testing, system design documents, bid specifications, and engineering drawings. Experience in reviewing conceptual site models to develop and provide costs for cleanup strategies. Well-versed working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and guidance, including at a minimum MTCA, RCRA, and CERCLA. Permitting experience (e.g. PSCAA, CSGP, NPDES, clearing and grading permits, regional air agencies, local municipalities, and others). Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external, to perform cleanup actions with varying degrees of complexity and/or overall scope. Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to independently prepare proposals, summary reports, and formal cleanup documentation including Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study reports, Cleanup Action Plans, Engineering Design Reports, and Cleanup Action Reports. Ability to work with Farallon’s team of scientists and engineers on business development objectives. Commitment to safety, including working knowledge of State and Federal health and safety requirements. Minimum Qualifications: ABET certified Bachelor or Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering. Professionally licensed in Washington. Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, including planning and performing site investigations, design and operation of remediation systems in Washington State including air-sparge, soil vapor extraction, multi-phase extraction, in-situ remediation, mass excavation, and implementation of engineering controls. Availability to travel as required for project and business development related work (as required). Experience communicating with Local, State, and Federal regulators. Ideally, you’ll also have: Experience developing new clients and practices and a strong track record of success. Familiarity with GIS, data management, and laboratory analytical procedures. Previous experience with independent cleanups and closure through the Voluntary Cleanup Program. Other specialized engineering design knowledge including PFAS cleanup experience, air-compliance and emissions control experience, or sediment cleanup experience. Familiarity with local stormwater regulations, permit compliance, and preparation of supporting documentation (SPCC, SWPPP, Industrial Stormwater Permits, Sand and Gravel Permits) is helpful. Salary Our best estimate of the base salary range for a Senior level role is $120,000 – $160,000 and up to $185,000 for Principal level roles. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. Farallon reviews and updates salary ranges annually, and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Farallon’s total compensation package for our employee-owners.
