Planning & Environment at Beca Beca’s Planning & Environment team helps clients design and deliver projects that create lasting environmental, social and community value. The Opportunity This is a new senior leader role to champion and deliver social impact assessment (SIA), social science, engagement and outcomes services across Beca’s markets in Australia. As a senior member of our Planning & Environment section, you will help shape strategy, grow capability across environmental, heritage and social disciplines, and take a key client leadership role for relevant clients. This newly created and fast-growing section is focused on helping our clients create measurable environmental, social and community benefits. This role is open in our Sydney office but we would also look at Newcastle or Brisbane as potential locations. As a leader in the business, you will set best practice SIA, social science and engagement methods, aligned with national/international standards. As well as providing advice to relevant team members to integrate social and community benefits into project design, impact assessment, and approvals. A key focus of the role will be in the Energy and Water sectors where you will:- Develop and nurture positive relationships with key wind, solar, BESS and/or transmission clients as well as local government/water authorities. Lead account planning and pursuit strategies. Advise and prepare scopes for clients that address delivery and approvals risks. Lead bid strategy, value propositions, pricing and pitches to clients. Mentor and develop social scientists, planners and engagement specialists; foster a high-performing, inclusive culture. Build cross-Tasman collaboration with Beca’s New Zealand team for project pursuits and delivery across Australia and the Pacific. Build discipline tools, templates and training for consistent high-quality delivery. About You To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience as a planner, social (or environmental) scientist or similar and have worked in Energy, Water or a related industry, with proven consulting experience. You are someone who embraces challenges, promotes innovation and leads with a mindset of continual improvement, as well as connecting the Beca network to bring the best of our business to our clients and the community. Being a technical leader and relationship builder, you have the capability to lead projects and project teams and initiate, manage and develop strategic and operational relationships internally and externally to influence and coordinate people and skillsets to effect change to benefit our communities, people and clients.
