Vecna Robotics seeks a Principal Software Engineer to join our Cloud Software team to develop world class software systems that manage and support our robots in warehouses across America. Our software systems allow our operations staff to remotely interact with robots, orchestrate work across a fleet of robots, and detect and escalate system failures. We strive to consistently improve software robustness and reliability in an exciting and fast-moving industry. This is the ideal role for a software engineer that can effectively raise software standards across teams, reliably architect systems to elegantly meet real world challenges, and communicate well with executives while earning the trust of Vecna engineers.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment, has good time management skills, and loves to solve interesting and challenging problems. They can design versatile solutions that solve multiple problems simultaneously.
Reporting to the VP, Cloud Software, this is a full-time, salaried position at the Waltham, MA office with the flexibility to work from home twice a week. • Design and architect software solutions that span across multiple business areas and physical robotic platforms.
• Consistently make impactful decisions to balance technical excellence with business needs
• Mentor engineers at various levels, challenging them to excellence and support their career growth
• Embody software excellence, leading by example, and influencing processes to serve business goals.
• Work effectively with the validation team to continuously improve the software release process, and reduce customer downtime
• Collaborate with the DevOps and IT groups to simplify network architecture, customer technical onboarding experience, and propose application design improvements to reduce DevOps challenges
