This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Software Engineer – Data Platform & AI in the United States. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced data platforms and AI-driven solutions. You will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, delivering high-quality, production-grade code while mentoring and guiding team members. The role involves building scalable microservices, optimizing real-time data pipelines, and integrating AI technologies to enhance system capabilities. You will partner with internal teams and external vendors to deliver robust software solutions that impact large-scale enterprise applications. This position offers the opportunity to innovate, solve complex technical challenges, and influence the strategic direction of data and AI initiatives. Accountabilities: Lead the end-to-end development of scalable data platforms, microservices, and AI-integrated applications. Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks across the software development lifecycle. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while performing rigorous testing and validation. Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure alignment with technical solutions. Review and provide constructive feedback on team members’ code, fostering technical excellence. Automate processes and optimize system performance using CI/CD, containerization, and cloud platforms. Stay current with emerging technologies and integrate them where appropriate to improve platform capabilities. Minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience, including at least 7 years developing Java/Spring Boot microservices. Proven experience with large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. Expertise in data engineering, real-time or near real-time data pipelines, Lakehouse architecture, Azure ADLS Gen2, and Apache Hudi. Strong knowledge of enterprise design patterns, SaaS applications, and AI integration. Analytical mindset, problem-solving aptitude, and strong organizational skills. Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, with excellent teamwork and leadership abilities. Familiarity with Agentic AI components is a plus. Experience using AI tools to accelerate coding and software delivery. Competitive salary range: $162,000 – $181,000 per year. Benefits starting from day one, including retirement plan matching.
