Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This Principal role owns technical leadership for the Peer Community product within Digital Product Technology (DPT), partnering with two Scrum teams to deliver mobile, web and backend platforms and to drive discovery and the architectural runway.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead system architecture, run technical reviews, and own cross-team integration and interfaces across two Scrum teams.
  • Participate and lead discovery, prototyping, and the architectural runway to ensure delivery readiness and technical alignment.
  • Design and evolve client-side architecture for web and mobile while ensuring consistency across platforms.
  • Design and build effective, observable, and scalable backend services in Go.
  • Define and drive non-functional requirements: scalability, availability, security, observability, and performance.
  • Coach and mentor senior engineers; influence hiring, on-call practices, and engineering standards.
  • Work closely with Product and Design to translate customer problems into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Improve engineering processes and tooling to reduce cycle time and increase reliability.
