As a Principal Software Engineer, within the (NGA) Next Generation Avionics group, you will lead the development and advancement of our cutting-edge Anthem Display Platform. You will be responsible for shaping the software architecture, guiding best practices, and spearheading projects to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions that meet the rigorous demands of aviation standards.
You will provide technical expertise as an Anthem Display Platform Principal Technical Lead in the identification and development of new products. You will act as a key focal point for driving and implementing goals and objectives, especially developing software architecture for safety critical avionics systems, designing consistent, usable, intuitive display applications that drive value to pilots and leading other teams in user application development. You will be recognized by business management as a primary technical authority.

Key Responsibilities

• You will act as a key Display Platform focal point for driving and implementing technical goals and objectives, as well as collaborate with the Display Platform Product Owner to drive product strategy.
• Ensure that software solutions are scalable, reliable, and align with industry best practices
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, ensuring the successful execution of software projects
• Identify areas for process improvements within the software development lifecycle and advocate for best practices in software engineering.
• Engage in the evaluation and selection of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance software development efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work with stakeholders to capture and manage software requirements, ensuring they are well-defined, complete, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle
• You may lead proposals to address future business opportunities, value engineering and program/process changes.
• Develop and execute test plans, analyze test results, and drive corrective actions
• Oversee the integration and testing of software solutions, ensuring that they meet performance and quality standards
