About the Role (your why) As a Principal Solution Architect within our Presales Architecture team, you will take the lead in shaping large and strategically important technical programs, bringing deep expertise across infrastructure designs. You will be responsible for creating the enterprise architecture roadmap, guiding technology decisions, and ensuring technical integrity for our complex, high-value Managed Services client solutions. The role will see you partnering with both internal teams and our customers to build future roadmaps to integrate innovative, cost-effective, and future-ready solutions, while also mentoring the next generation of technical experts within our business. Please note that due to the customer you’ll be helping us to support, we can only progress with Australian Citizens who are able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance. What you’ll do At the moment, as Principal Solution Architect you will be focused on: Leading technical roadmaps and design, solution architecture, and strategic technology direction for major client engagements and enterprise programs Providing advanced technical support during proposal writing, solution design, prototyping, and presales activities Defining and maintaining enterprise architecture roadmaps in line with our Managed Services customers for their organisational business goals Driving the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies Managing high-level technical programs, including client relationships and consulting staff oversight Reviewing and ensuring all IT projects comply with architecture standards Creating and delivering high-impact technical presentations internally and for clients Mentoring and coaching technical staff to elevate capability across the business We are a pretty agile company, and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs. What you’ll bring Required experience: 10+ years’ experience in technical fields with a strong technical background in IT Infrastructure and Intelligent Workplace technologies 5+ years’ experience in an IT outsourcing environment Proven leadership in creating complex enterprise solutions and roadmaps Demonstrated experience evaluating, recommending, and integrating emerging technologies Exceptional enterprise architecture design and strategic planning skills Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Science, Engineering, Economics or related discipline Nice to have: Experience in Tier 2 service provider environments High-level financial management understanding relating to project and portfolio delivery Expertise in multiple major programming languages and infrastructure evaluation Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative teams to achieve organisational goals Why join us here at Datacom?
