Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Principal Solutions Architect at Lumen, you will serve as a senior leader and strategic partner across engineering and business domains. This role is instrumental in defining the direction of our digital platforms and delivering scalable, high-impact enterprise solutions.
You will operate with significant autonomy and influence, guiding cross-functional teams through complex technical landscapes while aligning solutions with long-term business objectives. This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise and leadership, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable, high-quality solutions.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in technical roles—such as software engineering or systems architecture—and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade solutions. Experience in the ticketing domain, especially with ServiceNow and legacy system migrations, is essential.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate strategic vision into detailed solution plans with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Act as a senior technical liaison between engineering and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and outcomes.
  • Own and manage a prioritized software development backlog, balancing stakeholder input, technical constraints, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Lead solution planning and backlog refinement to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment with architectural direction.
  • Conduct business analysis to gather, document, and validate complex technical and functional requirements.
  • Oversee software engineering timelines, track progress, and communicate risks, dependencies, and milestones to executive stakeholders.
  • Support software releases and deployments, contributing to quality assurance and validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI and analytics teams to integrate user research and performance insights.
  • Advocate for the voice of the customer and end user throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Lead initiatives related to ticketing systems, including ServiceNow implementation, optimization, and migration.
  • Mentor junior solution architects and contribute to the evolution of architectural practices across the organization.
