The Principal Specialist, FP&A Operations is a critical role within the Global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. This individual serves as an advanced subject matter expert, responsible for strengthening our financial planning infrastructure and driving operational excellence across our monthly business rhythm. The role is pivotal in ensuring seamless coordination of planning cycles, reporting deliverables, and system interfaces, while acting as a key liaison to various FP&A teams, business stakeholders, and our parent company in Japan.
At a global level, the Principal Specialist leads initiatives to optimize FP&A operations, including the development and implementation of standardized processes, tools, and reporting frameworks that support strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with regional and functional FP&A teams to ensure alignment across planning activities, forecast accuracy, and performance tracking. The Principal Specialist also plays a key role in managing system integrations and enhancements, ensuring data consistency and reliability across platforms.
The Principal Specialist fosters a collaborative and innovative team culture, dedicated to achieving operational excellence and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the FP&A function.

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field required.
  • MBA or a master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline is highly preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent finance, economics, business management, statistics, or related field is preferred.


    • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant high-level Financial and Capital Planning/ FP&A experience

    • Advanced experience in a similar position in a related environment.
    • Advanced experience with MS office and data warehouse tools.
    • Advanced experience with workday or other HR tools.
    • Advanced demonstrable extensive experience within finance in a company with international operations.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 25 lbs.
    • Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility
    • Remain stationary for long periods of time.
    • Ascend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform.
    • Position self in small spaces.
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
    • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
    • Must have flexible work schedule to accommodate across global business hours

    WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with an occasional need to be onsite.
    • Exposure to varying temperatures and loud noises.
    • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
    • Travel may be required
      This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.
      NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 162,000.00 - $ 208,200.00.
      All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.

    Responsibilities
    • Lead the end-to-end FP&A global process, providing strategic direction to define, build, and deploy process strategy to drive operational excellence
    • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized FP&A processes, methodologies, and best practices across all FP&A teams
    • Ensure consistent application of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes throughout the organization
    • Establish, update and enforce global FP&A policies, procedures, and guidelines

    • Prepare visual financial analysis presentations in power point for upper management
    • Operational Excellence: Lead and coordinate the monthly Rhythm of Business (ROB), including planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
    • System Ownership: Oversee and optimize financial systems and data flows (DWH, Planning Tools, ERP interfaces), ensuring data integrity and usability.
    • Template & Process Governance: Manage and continuously improve working templates (Q&A, Forecasts, R/O, Lists etc.) used across FP&A processes.
    • Presentation & Communication: Own the creation and refinement of executive-level presentations (e.g., Board slides), including commentary and visual storytelling.
    • Project Leadership: Support or lead strategic FP&A projects such as benchmarking, competitor analysis, and performance deep-dives.
    • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and our Japanese parent company for FP&A-related topics, ensuring alignment and timely communication
