The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Long Range Radars (LRR) department is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support the GLOBUS program. This position is located on-site in Woburn, MA, and offers a unique opportunity to join a small, cross-disciplinary team of Systems, Software, and Integration Engineers. This team is responsible for investigating software and hardware defects and identifying performance enhancement opportunities for a deployed radar system. What You Will Do You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements, design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities: Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements. Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions. Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance. Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers. Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. Experience with system concepts such as detection, discrimination, track, and/or signal processing algorithms. Qualifications We Prefer Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues. Experience working with tools such as Jira and DOORS. Strong communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and lead the development of technical solutions to challenging requirements. Proficiency in Matlab and the MS Office Suite.
