We're looking for a Principal Systems & Safety Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. As a Principal Systems & Safety Engineer, you'll play a critical role in our product development process for robots from concept to launch. You will be a key technical voice on product safety and compliance, ensuring our system architecture and design meet and exceed regulatory requirements. This is an opportunity to have a major impact on our products and grow your leadership skills by driving significant improvements in our compliance framework. Please note that this position requires spending approximately 40% of your working time in Tallinn, Estonia. Your main responsibilities are: Driving improvements to our compliance framework: You'll identify opportunities and lead initiatives to make a step-change improvement in our existing compliance and safety processes, ensuring we stay ahead of global standards (e.g., CE, IEC, ISO, UL). Translating standards into requirements: You'll analyse complex safety standards and regulations and translate them into clear, verifiable system and subsystem requirements for our hardware and software teams. Analysing system architecture: You'll review the system architectures to identify potential hazards, ensure safety-critical functions are robust, and guide design choices from the start. Conducting technical risk assessments: You'll lead and document technical risk assessments, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) at the system level. Contributing to product certifications: You'll be a key part of the certification process, preparing technical documentation and collaborating with external labs to ensure successful product validation. Developing validation strategies: You'll work with our test and validation teams to create and execute test plans that verify compliance and validate the safety of the overall system.
