Description

Skimmer is on a mission: to modernize the pool and spa service and repair industry. We’re a private equity-backed company with 6000+ customers using Skimmer’s pool service platform to transform their businesses. But we’re not stopping there (there are over 70,000 pool service companies in this surprisingly large “niche” space).
Our customers love us almost as much as we love them (check out our reviews and our NPS score of 68!)
We were recently honored to join the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies, the Deloitte Fast 500, were named one of Built In Austin’s Best Startups, as well as Austin’s Best Places for Working Parents.
We’re looking for big thinkers with small egos, so let’s dive in!

WHO ARE YOU?

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal UX Designer to lead the strategy, design, and execution of user experiences across our products.
As a senior design leader, you will be responsible for driving user-centered design processes, establishing and owning new design best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver intuitive, innovative, and impactful digital experiences.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in UX/UI design, ideally with a background in vertical SaaS.
  • Proven expertise with B2B applications in the service industry and with payment solutions is preferred.
  • Ability to balance user needs with business objectives and technical constraints.
  • Strong understanding of user research methods, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and work management tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with little or no supervision required, while delivering on project commitments.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ).
At Skimmer we’re deeply committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to identify and onboard people from all walks of life. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, family status, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, neurodiversity, disability, age, or veteran status, or any other non-merit based or legally protected grounds.
We also acknowledge that there is no “perfect” candidate - if you fulfill a few of the requirements, believe this is a role you would be excited about on a daily basis, and resonate with our culture, we encourage you to apply!
