Grow here. “Are you ready to join a team of water quality modelling specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?” Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Flood Modeller in one of our UK offices – whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. You will be a senior technical resource that will guide our more junior staff and proactively aim to develop our offering to mainly the Environment Agency and private sector clients. As a Principal Water Quality Modeller in our Water team most of your role will be a senior technical resource who will lead exciting and challenging water quality assessments in rivers and lakes, and also in transitional and coastal waterbodies. You will act as technical lead on a range of exciting and challenging water quality projects, collaborating with hydrologists, network modellers and engineers. You will lead the development of tools that will enable us to deliver efficiencies and innovative solutions for our clients. You will guide our more junior staff, leaving a lasting legacy on the environment. You will be leading bids, and using your knowledge of the industry to guide our strategy and within this space to enhance our offering to water utilities, as well as industrial developments and local authorities. Principal accountabilities:Building and checking water quality models (using packages to such as MIKE+, MIKE21/3 HD/AD/Ecolab, InfoWorks ICM, CORMIX, SAGIS-SIMCAT) to assist in UPM studies, permitting studies and EIAs.Conceptualisation and scoping of modelling approaches, with consideration of the risks and opportunities in each.Produce and review of high-quality technical reports documenting model build and uncertainties in the model build processLead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts.Mentor staff within the team to support their professional developmentBuild relationships with clients and across other technical disciplinesKeep up-to-date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect our servicesUse AECOM’s project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients in line with the agreed programme and budgetWork closely with our clients and teams of engineers and technical specialists to help our clients deliver a wide range of fluvial and coastal surface water quality projects.If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, we want to hear from you!
