ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE PRINCIPAL WELDING QA-QC ENGINEER

  • Thorough understanding of Welding Application Standards, Weld Quality, and ISO 3834-2
  • Experience using the digital quality management system - WeldEye
  • Experience of Weld Inspection activities
  • Experience of managing a team of technical specialists
    This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week on the Devonport Site, with the potential for overtime in support of business demands.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PRINCIPAL WELDING QA-QC ENGINEER

The following are the required Qualifications for the Principal Welding QA/QC Engineer. Support shall be provided to attain these; however it is desirable that applicants hold many of these or have the required pre-requisites to enrol on these courses.

  • CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector
  • PCN Level 2 in Radiographic Interpretation
  • TWI Diploma in Welding Technology
  • Level 3 Qualification in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent

THE ROLE

As a Principal Welding QA-QC Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Through managing and developing the organisations Welding Quality output, you will play a pivotal role in the Product Safety of Infrastructure, Surface Ships and Submarines.

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the quality management system (QMS) and monitor and control the quality of welding documentation completed at Devonport. This shall include:

  • Managing and developing the Processes and Procedures that govern welding documentation output.
  • Managing deployment of electronic quality management system Devonport site i.e.Weld-Eye.
  • Providing a high level of specialist technical knowledge to the business regarding welding.
  • Ensuring the appropriate SQEP of the Welding Compliance team.
