Principalship at St John Bosco College, Piara Waters The Executive Director of Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) invites applications for the Principalship role at St John Bosco College based in Piara Waters commencing 1 January 2026. School Profile St John Bosco College is a Catholic co-educational school in Piara Waters, approximately 22 km south of the Perth CBD, offering education from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. Known for its innovative and flexible learning spaces, the College embraces 21st-century teaching and learning practices that promote collaboration and creativity. Rooted in the tradition and spirituality of St John Bosco and the Salesian charism, the College lives out the words of its patron: “It is not enough to love the young; they must know that they are loved.” Modern facilities include purpose-built learning centres, a library, science, arts and technology areas, sports ovals, multi-purpose courts, and dedicated assembly spaces. Recent additions include a Sports and Recreation Centre, a new Secondary Learning Centre, and a College Cafeteria. Demonstrate a deep understanding of Catholic identity through visible faith-based actions, transparent decision-making, and strong parish and community engagement. Education Lead a culture of academic excellence and innovation by fostering contemporary, inclusive, and evidence-based teaching practices informed by data-driven decision-making. Promote a culture of wellbeing through preventative and proactive initiatives that foster a respectful, safe, and supportive environment, demonstrating transparent communication, consistent leadership, and a holistic approach to nurturing the whole child. Community Demonstrate a deep understanding of the College community and its diverse needs, exercising courageous, well-informed, and fair decision-making that prioritises long-term wellbeing and educational outcomes. Build strong, respectful relationships with families, staff, and the wider community through meaningful engagement, professional support, and transparent communication that strengthens trust and collaboration across the College. Stewardship Demonstrate the capacity to manage complex and sensitive issues with professionalism, clarity, and fairness, leading difficult conversations with confidence and fostering a culture of accountability and mutual respect. Demonstrate the capacity to lead a culture of high expectations and standards across all areas of College life, while ensuring accountability and consistency in upholding the College’s values and standards. Apply strong financial acumen to ensure ethical, strategic, and future-focused stewardship of College resources, aligned with Catholic values and sound governance practices. Selection Criteria: Practising Catholic and experienced educator committed to Catholic Education. Accredited for Leadership of a Catholic School Community or equivalent. Demonstrated senior leadership experience in Catholic schools, with K-12 experience desirable but not essential. A collaborative and future-focused leader who understands and supports the strategic priorities of the broader Catholic Education system. A relevant Master’s degree (or working towards completion) with the ability to apply advanced leadership and management principles to both the day-to-day and long-term leadership of a school is highly desirable.
