Description
In this position, you will oversee the electrical engineering scope for large and complex port projects, leading the development, review, and approval of advanced electrical designs, calculations, and technical reports. Your work will cover power distribution, lighting, automation, communications, and specialized systems essential to port operations. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from other disciplines, such as civil, structural, mechanical, and environmental engineering, to deliver coordinated and integrated solutions that meet client needs and regulatory requirements. As a leader, you will mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulators, and industry partners is also a key aspect of this role. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred). Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Nova Scotia and/or other Atlantic Canada provinces or eligible for registration. 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with substantial exposure to port, marine, or heavy infrastructure projects. Deep knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, relevant standards, and best practices in port electrification, shore power, automation, and related systems. Demonstrated experience leading large, multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships. Proficiency with design and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM). Strong business development, proposal writing, and communication skills. Commitment to safety, sustainability, and digital innovation.
