The Principal Representative will be based in St. Vincent and this role serves as the primary point of contact between the Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) and regulatory authorities, overseeing governance, compliance and risk management, while ensuring that the business is managed in alignment with best practices in virtual asset services. The Role The Principal Representative will: Serve as the principal point of contact between the VASP and the regulatory authority, ensuring that the VASP complies with all licensing and registration requirements and will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the VASP’s operations in the jurisdiction. Submit regulatory filings, notifications, and periodic reports within prescribed timelines. Notify regulators promptly of any material changes in the business, ownership, or risk profile. Ensure that the VASP maintains an adequate governance framework, including policies, procedures and internal controls, representing the VASP in regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries. Safeguard the reputation and good standing of the VASP within the jurisdiction. Attend on-site inspections conducted by the Financial Services Authority in St. Vincent including but not limited to inspection preparation, document collation, drafting of regulatory responses, remediation planning, and follow-up meetings In concert with the Hex Trust Compliance team, Oversee the implementation of robust Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Terrorist Financing (CFT), and Counter-Proliferation Financing (CPF) programs. Ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC), customer due diligence (CDD,) and ongoing transaction monitoring obligations. Establish frameworks for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, technological, financial, and reputational risks. Ensure that suspicious activity reports (SARs) and other required disclosures are filed in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure transparent and fair treatment of clients, including disclosure of risks and fees. Maintain adequate business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements. Engage with regulators, law enforcement, and financial institutions on compliance-related matters. Provide periodic reports to the Board of Directors or senior management on compliance, risk, and operational matters. The Principal Representative must be based in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He/she will possess: A recognized professional or academic qualification in law, finance, compliance, or a related field, with at least five (5) years of experience in a trading, operations or compliance role. Demonstrated experience in financial services, compliance, or regulatory oversight. High level of integrity, professionalism and ability to exercise sound judgment. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The ability to work independently in an often ambiguous and fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of virtual assets, blockchain technology and emerging regulatory frameworks would be an asset.
