This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Software Engineer in the United States. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and integration of advanced software solutions in a high-tech engineering environment. You will work on complex systems combining software-defined radios, cybersecurity, and advanced sensing technologies, contributing to innovative R&D initiatives. The position involves full-stack and cloud development, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and support for both internal and external customers. You will mentor junior developers, lead technical projects, and drive solutions from concept through deployment. This is an opportunity to tackle cutting-edge challenges, leverage emerging technologies, and make a significant impact on mission-critical applications in defense and national security contexts. \n Accountabilities Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of software developers. Develop and maintain software across multiple languages, adapting quickly to new technologies. Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to troubleshooting deployed systems. Contribute to research and prototyping in software-defined radios (SDRs), spectrum operations, and electronic warfare. Support development of technical solutions covering the full product management lifecycle. Investigate and evaluate emerging technologies including AI/ML, quantum sensing, and autonomous systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RF, mechanical, electrical, software, and cybersecurity experts. Participate in laboratory experiments and field tests to validate concepts and assess system performance. Prepare technical documentation and assist in proposal development and customer engagements. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience. 5+ years of software development experience in complex engineering environments. Proficient in Python, C#, Rust, Windows and Linux environments, and full development lifecycle tools. Strong foundational knowledge of networking, system troubleshooting, and modern operating systems. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies. Familiarity with cloud development, databases, and query languages. Expertise in one or more of the following: RF systems, electronic warfare, cybersecurity, machine learning/AI applied to RF/cyber, SDRs, or signal processing. Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding teams and complex R&D efforts. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance. Benefits Competitive annual salary: $180,000 – $200,000.
