OPPORTUNITY

MacEwan University is seeking a Print Services Operator for a casual opportunity with the Campus Services department.
You will be responsible for satisfying customer requirements for digital reprographics and binding needs by providing high-quality, cost effective, error-free and on-time solutions for customers’ print communication needs.
This includes understanding client needs, utilizing advanced digital printing technologies, and maintaining consistent standards of service excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating digital copying/printing and bindery equipment to produce print orders which meet customer specifications;
  • Responsible for the prioritization of workflow in a team environment to ensure completeness and accuracy, and that delivery timelines are met;
  • Assisting in maintaining a supply inventory by initiating restocking;
  • Scanning and formatting hardcopy originals for printing, archiving for customer retention to meet job requirements for variable data printing, sequential numbering, page imposition, resizing, image editing and manipulation;
  • Assisting clients to understand the requirements and output possibilities of digital printing and copying methodology;
  • Recommending economical and effective print and bindery solutions; and
  • Assisting clients to prepare their electronic files and hardcopy originals for network transfer, scanning and printed output.

SKILLS

You will have:

  • Proficient in operating digital print equipment; and
  • Skilled in computer use, including software applications relevant to printing, file management, and basic troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a Grade 12 diploma.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a digital print environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
