Job Description Authorization Coordinators are responsible for obtaining authorizations on all testing appointments. Also responsible for obtaining Insurance Referrals. They are to check the schedules weekly to make sure no new appointments have been added. They contact outside referring offices for authorization information on testing appointments. They obtain authorizations onside referrals as well, example is CTA, CT, MRI, any outside scans. Registers Patients if needed Collaborates and communicates with Cardiology teams to ensure continuity of medical care, to include obtaining, clarifying, validating referral requests. Assists with the creation of standard work for insurance authorizations. Responds to all requests (email, website, phone, other) and inquiries to best coordinate a patient’s appointment and needs. Contacts patients, families, medical providers and/or facilities to foster smooth transitions of care into the Practice. Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a medical receptionist or previous care coordination experience Direct customer service in the medical field We take great care of careers.
