PRIVACY IMPACT ASSESSMENT (PIA) SPECIALIST - SENIOR

On behalf of our healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist - Senior for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

PRIVACY IMPACT ASSESSMENT (PIA) SPECIALIST - SENIOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist - Senior will deliver timely privacy products and services to ensure compliance with privacy rules and regulations. The role involves advising and collaborating with various stakeholders, from senior executives to privacy/security experts, to develop high-quality privacy products. Key responsibilities include creating a Privacy Policy Procedure Handbook and privacy learning modules, conducting privacy impact assessments, and developing risk mitigation plans.

PRIVACY IMPACT ASSESSMENT (PIA) SPECIALIST - SENIOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Minimum 10+ years of operational experience applying Privacy by Design within the framework of Ontario’s PHIPA and FIPPA.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in writing IPC compliant policies and supporting documents.
  • 7+ years of experience in preparing and delivering privacy training and education in plain language.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, research, and presentation skills.

PRIVACY IMPACT ASSESSMENT (PIA) SPECIALIST - SENIOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Recognized privacy designation (CIPP/C).
  • Familiarity with other privacy-related legislation (e.g., PIPEDA, OAHPP).
  • Experience working with Ontario Public Service and Broader Public Sector Organizations.
  • Experience in the health and healthcare sector.
Responsibilities
  • Develop platform-level Privacy Policy Procedure Handbook to meet HSC’s PHIPA roles requirements.
  • Create platform-level Privacy learning modules in compliance with HSC’s PHIPA roles requirements.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and develop risk mitigation plans and service level agreements.
  • Support the development of public health domain-specific privacy educational materials.
