ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are a well-established firm based in Newark-on-Trent, seeking an experienced and client-focused Private Client Fee Earner – either a Paralegal, Chartered Legal Executive, or Solicitor – to join our friendly and growing Private Client team.
You will handle a varied caseload of private client matters including wills, probate, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney (LPAs), and Court of Protection work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, efficiency, and a strong understanding of the needs of individuals and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Draft and advise on wills, LPAs, and basic trust documents
• Manage the full process of probate and estate administration
• Advise on inheritance tax (IHT) planning and prepare IHT forms for submission to HMRC
• Assist with Court of Protection applications and deputyship matters
• Maintain high standards of client care and service throughout the matter
• Conduct client meetings in person and remotely, including home or care home visits when required
• Ensure compliance with SRA, AML, and GDPR obligations
• Work collaboratively within the team and across departments where necessary
