A leading regional law firm with a strong reputation in Private Client services is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or TEP to lead and grow its established team based in Reading.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned legal professional to play a strategic role within a dynamic and client-focused department. You will be responsible not only for managing a full caseload but also for mentoring junior team members and driving business development initiatives.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEX), or TEP with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in private client work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a busy caseload independently with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience mentoring or supervising team members.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Commercially astute with a track record of developing business and maintaining client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in relevant legal and practice management systems.

• Manage a diverse portfolio of private client matters including wills, estate administration, LPAs, trusts, tax planning, and Court of Protection work.
• Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the Private Client division in Reading.
• Supervise and support junior staff including trainees, junior lawyers, and support personnel.
• Foster and grow relationships with clients and external professionals (e.g., accountants, IFAs, care providers).
• Collaborate with senior leadership to support departmental growth and achieve commercial targets.
• Contribute to firm-wide marketing, business development, and compliance initiatives.
