Salary: £45,000 - £50,000; Hours: 09:00am to 5:00pm, Office Based (Preston), Permanent Role

PRIVATE CLIENT LAW – ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified Solicitor with minimum 1 years’ PQE within a private client team or relevant legal department.
  • Comprehensive experience of wills, probate, trusts, inheritance tax planning, and lasting powers of attorney is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and simply.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and legal case management software.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, resilience, and a proactive, client-first approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, contributing positively to the wider firm culture.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and compliance in all matters.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney.
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice for a diverse range of matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents with precision, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice in private client law.
  • Handle sensitive client issues with empathy, discretion, and understanding, delivering excellence in client care at all times.
  • Conduct thorough research and keep up-to-date with private client law and regulatory developments.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the team by supporting business development initiatives, networking, and community engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to ensure joined-up legal solutions and exceptional service delivery.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records and manage caseload through the firm’s case management system.
