We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Private Client Tax team in either Newcastle or Southampton, which is responsible for managing the compliance and tax advice process for a client allocation. You will be responsible for supervising tax staff, assisting with client work and deal with technical and administrative issues. As an Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include among others Preparing tax returns and in some cases review tax returns Managing HMRC enquiries and draft or review HMRC correspondence Responsible for compliance work on clients and monitor time limits and elections for compliance portfolio Preparing complex tax computations and supervise preparation of simple tax computations Preparing reports for clients in relation ad hoc advisory matters Responsible for billing and monitoring budgets Ensuring relevant client deadlines are met and S&W procedures are adhered to Assisting the partners with fee quotes and growing the business Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: ACA and/or CTA qualification Knowledge of Private Client and Partnership Tax and some planning experience Strong IT skills including practical knowledge of Microsoft Office packages; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Good written communication skills are necessary to draft correspondence with clients and HMRC to explain technical issues in an easily understandable manner.
