Application Deadline: 12/04/2025 Address: 250 Yonge Street Job Family Group: Customer Solutions We are seeking a driven and analytical Private Market Analyst to support the sourcing, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring of private market investments across asset classes including private debt, private equity, infrastructure, and real estate. This role will play a critical part in supporting the long-term investment objective of the insurance general account by identifying high quality opportunities, assessing manager capabilities, and ensuring strong portfolio governance. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial modeling skills, investment due diligence experience, and a deep interest in alternative assets. Key Responsibilities Investment Analysis and Due diligence Support the evaluation of new private market opportunities, including fund investment and co investments across private debt, private equity, infrastructure, and real assets. Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence and analyze fund strategy, historical performance, market positioning, risk factors, and manager capabilities. Develop financial models to assess expected returns, downside risks, cash flow profiles, and capital structures. Document the memo and prepare for the approval. Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting Monitor existing private market investments for performance, risk exposure, capital calls, distributions, and compliance with mandates. Build internal tracking models and databases for portfolio level analysis, (NAV, IRR, DPI, commitment pacing). Work with GPs and custodians to collect data, reporting packages, and updates on underlying holdings. Market Research and Strategy Conduct research on private market trends, sectors, and geographies to support portfolio construction and asset allocation. Contribute to development of long-term private market strategy in coordination with the broader investment team. Support manager screening and pipeline management through market mapping and peer benchmarking. Collaboration and Governance Work closely with legal, compliance, operations, and risk teams to support onboarding, documentation, and monitoring private assets. Ensure alignment of private market investment with regulatory, and liquidity requirements relevant to investment mandates. Assist in preparing materials for regulatory, and audit reviews as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business or a related field. 3-6 years of relevant experience in private markets, investment consulting, or institutional asset management. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience building cash flow models and evaluating illiquid investments. Familiarity with limited partnership structures and rated feeder structures, capital calls/distributions, and performance metrics (e.g.IRR, TVPI, DPI). Exposure to insurance regulatory frameworks is an asset. Proficient in Excel, and investment analytical platform is an asset. Experience with Python and high visualization tools such as Power BI, and Tableau is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
