1. DESCRIPTION OF THE DEPARTMENT

The AXA IM Prime ‘Business Development’ department is organised in two: Sales and Product. The latter comprises of Product development, Market intelligence, Event strategy, Communication, Marketing, Investor relations and RFP.

  • Interest in private markets (ie private equity, private debt, infrastructure, etc.) or wish to learn about it
  • Excellent verbal and written English; knowledge of an additional language would be a benefit
  • 2nd year undergraduate student with a focus on finance/economics or management/Business
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

2. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Private Markets Product Development Intern will work in the Product department and will partner with various team across the business including investment teams, sales, structuring, marketing, legal and compliance. The role holder will assist the Head of Product and the team to help the delivery of department activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Help the head of product development on the day to day basis to execute the Product Development Committee (PDC) including preparing the agenda with the various team involved in the launch of each product (ie product, investment, sales, structuring, legal, risk, compliance), the follow ups of these PDC (including preparation of minutes) and improvement to the process.
  • Help the head of product development in the preparation of market intelligence studies on strategies that we are planning to launch (ie ‘competitive analysis) to help design specific parameters and ensure the positioning is attractive. These studies can also be focused on transversal topics such as ELTIF, LTAF, Impact, etc.
  • Help the head of product development to execute the ‘event strategy’ in close collaboration with the sales team. The starting point will be the definition of the product to push forward from a client segment and geographical point of views. Then the aim will be to identify the various main conferences in each region and then negotiate what is required (branding, speaking slots, etc.) with a specific target budget. The final step will be the coordination between parties (ie sales, investment teams, marketing, product) before, during and after each event.
  • Help the head of product development to design/review/improve the messages we want to push forward in various format (ie conferences speaking slots, prospect meeting, presentation, etc.) and help support the training of each authorised speaker.
  • Help the head of product development to prepare updates on strategies dedicated to support sales in the sell process of each strategy/fund in close collaboration with the investment and sales teams. It can take the form of short emails or dedicated short presentation.
  • Help the head of product development to support the communication strategy. It will start by ensuring the strategy is followed and help prepare the information which is required for the various engagement we will have.
    Skills-based development: Over time the candidate will also take ownership of ad hoc projects to develop project management and broader communications skills. The candidate will also be expected to develop investment knowledge and understanding of the fund management industry as a whole through exposure to fund management, investment and sales teams.
