OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Private Piano Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a desire to inspire students of all ages. This role involves teaching piano lessons in a one-on-one setting, developing customized lesson plans, and fostering a love for music in students. This is an on-site position at our new location in Kirkland. Our sister schools, Kirkland Music Academy and Melody Music, have been successfully running music education programs in Kirkland since 2006 with over 4500 students attending our programs. We have three classrooms that will be available 7 days per week for private lessons, two with upright Yamaha pianos. We are performance oriented and highly value teachers with experience teaching in the RCM and ABRSM programs. We prefer teachers who can grow their practices with us to 40-50 students and work only for us. Minimum 3 year commitment to teaching with our school since we place a high value on the teacher/student relationship and believe that successful piano lessons happen in the context of a long-term relationship.

EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in teaching or tutoring music, particularly piano, is essential.
• Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with special education strategies is a plus for accommodating diverse learning needs.
• Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels is important for this role.
• Strong lesson planning skills that reflect an understanding of curriculum development and classroom management techniques are required.
