Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and patient Private Tutor to provide individualized academic support to three (3) children, ages 13-16, who attend Dublin City Schools. The ideal candidate will assist the children with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks, as well as help them understand key concepts learned in the classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, a specific subject area, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a private tutor or in a teaching capacity, minimum of 2 years.
• Strong subject matter expertise in the areas to be taught.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a supportive demeanor.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with children and parents.
• A passion for teaching and inspiring children to achieve their academic goals.

• Develop and implement personalized plans tailored to each child’s unique needs and learning style.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions in all subject areas (e.g., Math, English, Science, etc).
• Assess student strengths and weaknesses to identify areas for improvement.
• Assist students with homework, projects, and test preparation.
• Teach effective study skills, note-taking techniques, and test-taking strategies.
• Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting strategies as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress.
• Collaborate with children and parents, to determine student needs and develop tutoring plans.
• Stay up-to-date with school curriculum and relevant educational materials.
