About Our Opportunity:
Working within the mission, vision, values and person-centred philosophy of the Agency, the PRIYD Program (Providing Resources and Independence for Youth Development) is a community-based life skills program focusing on functional life skills and community participation for children and youth with support needs living in Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, and Vancouver. The goals of the program are to increase each person’s independence and to support the family. Service is provided both one-to-one and in small groups. Staff work directly with children and youth who may have diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Fragile X syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and/or mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression.

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with children and youth with developmental disabilities or support needs
  • Demonstrated ability to identify health and safety issues for children and youth
  • Standard First Aid certificate is an asset
  • 6-month minimum commitment of 4.5 hours per week, on Saturdays or Sundays
  • Ability to work actively in the community

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
