UnityPoint Health – Meriter offers community-based inpatient and outpatient psychiatric programs for children and adolescents in South Central Wisconsin. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) serves young people ages 6-18 with severe behavioral health challenges such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and self-harming behaviors. The treatment team includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, licensed psychotherapists, occupational and recreational therapists, social workers, mental health specialists and certified teachers. PRN/Weekend call and onsite coverage of the inpatient service. Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination Responsibilities PRN Weekend call and onsite coverage of the inpatient service. Inpatient volume: 4 – 6 patients Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills Qualifications MD or DO Board Certified in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Experienced Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Wisconsin Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)

Responsibilities

The psychiatrist will provide PRN weekend call and onsite coverage of the inpatient service, managing an inpatient volume of 4-6 patients. They will evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions regarding patient care.
