Additional Information About the Role Shift information: PRN-depends on needs of client/family and FAW availability (typically evening or weekend); 6-10 hours/week per client Types of clients: Youth clients Location: Will meet with clients throughout the greater STL area Ideal Skill Set: Approachable, Fun, Creative, Flexibility Job responsibilities: Mentoring, modeling appropriate behavior, assist with implementation of interventions through real world experience, assist young clients with working on their goals, and be a support for that client, Coordination with the case worker, providing 1:1 interaction with the client 5-10 hours weekly, serving as a mentor/role model for clients and their families, working toward specific goals as part of the treatment team, attending team meetings and supervision meetings as scheduled Overview BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides skill training to children and youth on appropriate behaviors to exhibit in home and community environment. Responsibilities Works collaboratively with treatment team and family to provide positive social and leisure activities for children and adolescents. Provides skill training to children and youth on appropriate behaviors to exhibit in the home and community environment. Works with adult members of household on parenting skills. Minimum Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree - Social Services/related Experience
