Job Details Job Location: CBDS HENRYHOUSE - Philadelphia, PA 19125 Northeast Treatment Center, (NET), one of the largest behavioral health and social service agencies in the Philadelphia Region offering support and hope to individuals and families at times of great stress in their lives is actively seeking PRN-Pool Staff Youth Mentors to provide guidance and support to the residents who are receiving services at our Henry House, Community Based Detention Services (CBDS) program working with young boys between the approximate ages of 13-17. The Pool staff Youth Mentor will be responsible for ensuring the safety of clients in a 3800-regulation residential setting, overseeing daily activities, monitoring behaviors of youth and maintaining awareness of residents’ physical and emotional needs, transporting youth, engaging in activities, intervening to deescalate when needed, and preparing daily reports for shift worked. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Work with team to supervise youth during program hours to always ensure safety of young people and ensure adherence to the rules and principles. Provide role modeling to adolescent population. Assist with daily activity facilitation. Transport youth when needed. Monitor and facilitate all “non-group” and “recreation” time Attend court hearings and team meetings are needed. Complete required documentation. Be aware of latest developments in popular (youth) culture and have ideas for connecting to youth. Carry out daily routine household tasks, including general cleaning of the common areas. Assist with meal prep and service. Attend Supervision as specified by supervisor. Other Duties related to maintain safety and the positive development of Henry House residents. Qualifications High School Diploma or recognized equivalent. 2 years’ experience working with high-risk youth. Knowledge of the DHS Philadelphia services provided to Delinquent and Dependent youth. Valid Driver’s License. Satisfactory Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Background Check. Must be available to work weekends, holidays and cover additional shifts as needed.
