General Job Description: The Pharmacist serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to patients, and monitoring patient drug therapies. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Manages the 340B Drug Program. This position should increase customer confidence and loyalty to the pharmacy by providing consistent operating conditions, courteous and prompt service, and a friendly atmosphere. This role will accurately and courteously express pharmacy policies and procedures to the customers when appropriate Qualifications: Education Experience Required: Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) Completion of an emergency contraception training course approved by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE), curriculum-based programs from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy, applicable state or local health department programs, or programs recognized by the board of pharmacy upon hire. Valid GA pharmacist license (or must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure) Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification upon hire Work Experience Required: · 3 – 5 years’ experience Skills/Knowledge Required: Strong mathematical skills and understanding of science Ability to measure substances accurately Strong communication skills Ability to detect and investigate mistakes in a patient’s medications and prescriptions In-depth knowledge of drugs and their potential side effects Accreditations or Certifications/Licenses Required: Valid state pharmacist license (or must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure) Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Dispenses medications by packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow, verifying their preparation, and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections. Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies. Develops pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs and training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals as required Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspection. Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory. Supervises the work results of support personnel. Maintains current registration, studies existing and new legislation, anticipates legislation, and advises management on needed actions. Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Insuring 340B Drug Compliance DEA Compliance Managing vendor coordination. Compensation: $58.00 - $62.00 per hour “Our Mission is to serve God by serving our community with a passion for healthcare and compassion for people.” TMFC provides healthcare services as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). FQHCs are community-based health care providers that receive funds from the HRSA Health Center Program to provide primary care services in underserved areas. They must meet a stringent set of requirements, including providing care on a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay and operating under a governing board that includes patients. The defining legislation for Federally Qualified Health Centers (under the Consolidated Health Center Program) is Section 1905(l)(2)(B) of the Social Security Act. TMFC has also been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home Program. NCQA’s PCMH Recognition program is the most widely adopted PCMH evaluation program in the country. Tri-Med Family Care is a sub-recipient of a Georgia Family Planning System (GFPS) grant and is deemed a family planning service site. GFPS ensures access to high-quality pregnancy planning and prevention services integrated with other preventive health care for women, men and adolescents with priority given to low-income and uninsured individuals who may otherwise lack access regardless of income and health insurance status. TMFC is credentialed as a Community Provider in the VA Community Care Network (CCN). The CCN is the VA’s direct link with community providers to ensure Veterans receive timely, high-quality care. What We Do Primary Healthcare We employ a staff of Medical Doctors and Nurse Practitioners to deliver comprehensive medical care services that help you maintain good health. These services generally include: • Routine physical exams • Screening for common health issues • Treatment of minor illnesses and injuries • Management of both acute and chronic health conditions • Immunizations • Prescribing of necessary medications Pharmacy Services Tri-Med Family Care's full-service walk-in/drive-thru pharmacy is conveniently located at the rear of our parking lot. Our on-site pharmacy participates in the 340B Drug Discount Program, a federal government program requiring drug manufacturers to provide outpatient drugs at significantly reduced prices. These prescription drug price savings are directly passed onto you as an TMFC patient, regardless of insurance status. Our pharmacy is open to the general-public and offers over the counter products, free self-blood pressure monitoring, hassle-free prescription transfer, and medication counseling and therapy management. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances, and offer sliding fee scale pricing to patients who qualify.
