From general orthopedics to specialized areas like sports medicine and pain management, our services cover a wide range Department: Pre-Op/PACU Reports to: Pre-Op/PACU Manager Schedule/Type: PRN Wage: $50/hr Bonus Eligibility: No Requirements Essential Duties Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure Assess patients’ post-operative condition Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria Log all findings in patient files Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies Skills: Continuous learning and expertise maintenance in healthcare. Analytical skills to gather information and devise action plans. Utilization of intelligence and critical thinking in decision-making. Advanced understanding of human anatomy and physiology. Proficiency in using specialized medical equipment for surgical care. Adherence to evidence-based practice and regulatory standards. Quick response to changing work conditions with appropriate action. Accurate and timely communication of patient care details. Ability to conduct and interpret diagnostic tests for intervention. Knowledge of community resources for patient care continuity. Competence in reading and applying technical instructions. Ensuring patient safety and security during medication use. Consistent practice of hand hygiene and aseptic techniques Upholding patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Experience Required 2 year of Pre-Op/PACU (RN) experience in an Orthopedic setting preferred. Acute Care: 1 year (Preferred) Education/Certification requirements Degree in Nursing: Bachelors Preferred Current Colorado Registered Nurse license BCLS & ACLS certification required.
