Responsibilities . Qualifications SummaryServes patients by administering vaccines on behalf of the pharmacy as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepares and assists the Pharmacy team in the administration of vaccines, including influenza and COVID. Administers vaccines to residents in all facilities where required on behalf of the pharmacy. Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals, including counseling patients on drug therapies. Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control protocols. Follows HIPAA guidelines to protect patient health information. Travel including overnight stay as necessary. Meets Expectations of Excellence for position. Supports campuses, departmental goals, and the overall objectives of the Company. Complies with all laws, regulations, and standards of ethical conduct. Performs all job duties with a friendly positive and team-oriented approach. Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing with the State. Complies with all Company policies, procedures, rules, and standards. Qualifications:• Bachelor of Science (B. S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Registered Nurse (RN) Licenses/Certifications:• North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX)• Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE)• Certified to administer vaccines• CPR certification• LPN or RN licensure required if Pharmacist licensure is not held Experience:• Five (5) years’ experience in a pharmacy environment preferred. Healthcare, senior living industry or long-term care environment preferred.• Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
