The pro shop attendant is a vital cog for the successful and efficient operation of the Golf Course. As a key holder, the pro shop associate is responsible for the opening and closing procedures, as well as the daily operations of the golf course. The pro shop associate will be the voice of authority on the property when Management is absent. The pro shop attendant greets and signs in golfers, accepts payments, records sales, and orchestrates the 1st tee with the course Marshal and Starter. The pro shop has the final authority over the 1st tee and patrons on the property. The attendant will also make golf retail and food and beverage sales when necessary. The pro shop sells gift certificates, assigns rain checks and assigns remuneration chits to Marshals. The pro shop is responsible for scheduling tee times using software for members and guests in person, via phone calls, and coordinating incoming tee times booked by patrons online. The Proshop will sell memberships and collect payment for tournaments as needed. The pro shop will also be accountable for limited administrative duties such as recording and updating the golf club’s member database. The pro shop associate will be considered the ultimate ambassador for the golf course each day and will promote a positive image of the golf course at or away from the club.
