Description Pro Shop Maintenance/Golf Cart Attendant Mahomet, IL Description Classification: Seasonal Department: Pro Shop Work Location: Lake of the Woods Golf Course (Mahomet, IL) FLSA: Non-Exempt IMRF: Not Eligible Hours: Hours will vary including weekends and holidays depending on operational needs. Several positions may be available beginning in March and continuing through November. Salary: Grade 1: $16.76- $24.27; starting pay at base of range. POSITION SUMMARY Seasonal Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of labor related tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of the District’s grounds, buildings, user areas and equipment. The Pro Shop Maintenance/Golf Cart Attendant performs tasks associated with the maintenance and operations of the Pro Shop and surrounding areas as well as daily operations of the golf cart fleet. Primary Responsibilities • Set carts out daily for rental and returns carts to storage as applicable • Check golf carts daily for cleanliness and clean carts when necessary to maintain the appearance of the carts • Inspect carts for any maintenance or safety issues and ensure that each cart has been serviced as needed • Retrieve and clean balls from the practice range • Maintain neatness and cleanliness of the Pro Shop and surrounding areas, including daily cleaning and trash removal • Ensure rental area(s) are set up for events and functions • Provide efficient, helpful, and courteous service to all patrons and guests in and around the Pro Shop • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Required Qualifications • Excellent customer service skills • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal directions • Must be able to effectively communicate with golf course patrons and to develop good working relationships with co-workers and other District employees • Ability to work independently in daily operations under general supervision, to exercise judgement in the performance of duties, and to identify and solve problems as they arise • Must possess a valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications • Experience in a similar position with like duties • Knowledge of and interest in game of golf • Familiarity with Lake of the Woods Golf Course • CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to become certified within 2 months of employment Work Environment and Physical Demands Normal duties may include stooping, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Prolonged standing or walking, often on unpaved/uneven terrain, will be frequent. The employee may regularly handle, grasp, or feel objects; reach, push, or pull to reposition items; and may regularly lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height or above and up to 100 pounds to carrying height. Ability to talk and hear or otherwise effectively communicate with staff and patrons is required. Visual acuity necessary for this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Use of personal protective equipment will be required based on job specific tasks. This may include, but is not limited to: work boots, protective gloves, safety goggles or glasses, chaps, earplugs or ear covers, reflective vest or hi-vis shirt, respirator or mask, and helmet or hard hat.
