JOB INFORMATION

Are you seeking a career that is exciting, challenging, and rewarding? As a Probation Officer, you will act as an agent for the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) in supervising and assessing community-based offenders. Your responsibilities will include overseeing individuals under various legal orders; such as probation, parole, and conditional sentences, while promoting restorative justice, public safety, and successful reintegration. You will collaborate with community governments and justice partners to support these goals. This role requires expertise in program development, human behavior, and community corrections, as well as the ability to interpret legislation and legal documents, exercise sound judgment, and manage complex situations. Strong leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work in diverse environments, engage with community groups, and support volunteer development. A solid understanding of corrections policies and security operations is also required. In addition, you will assume a case manager role, engaging the client to establish case management objectives, complete offender management system reports, and make informed case management decisions as needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • A Degree in a Social Science related field (criminology, psychology, social work, sociology).
  • A Diploma in a Social Science related field combined with two (2) years current case management experience in the Corrections/Social Services field.
