This role focuses on obtaining and managing prior authorizations to ensure timely patient care and minimize delays. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of payer-specific requirements for pain procedures and is confident working independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Obtain prior authorizations for pain management procedures Navigate payer portals efficiently to submit, track, and follow up on authorizations Understand and apply payer-specific requirements and clinical criteria Monitor authorization status and resolve denials or delays as needed Calculate patient copays and coinsurance and provide cost estimates prior to procedures Notify patients proactively of their financial responsibility Accurately document authorization activity and outcomes in Athena Partner with clinical and scheduling teams to maintain efficient patient flow Requirements Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in prior authorizations Strong familiarity with payer authorization workflows and requirements Athena experience highly preferred College degree not required—experience is imperative
